Where I serve
My ministry projects at the Chastity Project are to lead a global network of chastity clubs and lead an annual Chastity Rally in the DC area the weekend of the March for Life; the first will be in 2025! I will invest over two decades of business and life experience towards strengthening the Catholic Church for the remainder of my career and life as a small ‘v’ vocation, aiming to promote and reinforce the virtue of chastity for all people.
Jason and Crystalina Evert, Co-Founders of The Chastity Project, have spoken about the virtue of chastity on six continents to more than one million people, including at World Youth Days. They have six children and are the authors of more than 15 books, including The Curriculum You: Life, Love, and the Theology of the Body.
As Engagement Director with the Chastity Project, I will oversee a worldwide ministry of chastity clubs that will support and educate all young men and women in living virtuously, developing authentic love, and seeing God with a pure heart. The Chastity Clubs Network will include young adults in college, middle and high school students, adult ministry leaders, and any lay or religious leader seeking to launch a chastity club for their school or parish.
The National Chastity Project Rally will unite chastity club leaders, club members, laity, and families to build community while receiving training and formation from Jason Evert and other pro-life and pro-family industry leaders. The rally and network of chastity clubs will equip participants to advocate pure love to their peers and throughout the culture and create a generational impact on the Culture of Life.
In 2023, I attended six pro-life and pro-family conferences as former Director of Philanthropy at Human Life International. This strengthened my insight, commitment, and urgency to promote chastity in the US and globally. Father Paul Marx, Founder of HLI and called an “Apostle of Life” by Pope John Paul II (1991), was known to say the only way to end abortion is to end the contraception mindset. How do we end the contraception mindset?
Teaching young adults about the virtue of chastity can create a movement to end the contraception mindset. Educating children, young adults, and families about chastity will establish within them the correct understanding of human sexuality and lead them to pursue authentic love, avoiding the contraceptive mindset about sexuality that is so pervasive today.
My rich faith and a deep love for the Lord Jesus Christ sustain this passion! I seek a life aligned with His will daily and moment-by-moment to do my best during this beautiful temporal life God has gifted me, striving to save souls and heal hearts and always trusting in God’s plan.
My Story
I was born and raised in upstate New York, a beautifully loving and predominantly Catholic small city in Cohoes, NY. At 18 years old, I left home for Boston to pursue my undergraduate degree at Simmons College, a women’s college. My life has taken me to San Diego for six years, NYC and Atlanta, and the Washington, DC area for ten years. My rich experience includes working in nonprofits and for-profits, earning two graduate degrees while working full-time – an MBA and MA (& I am a first-generation graduate!), and managing thousands of stakeholders. One of my favorite positions was being an undergraduate advisor to Georgetown University business school students, including directing student groups and leading events.
I chose chastity in the Fall of 2018. It was the best decision of my life! I have not yet married nor have children, and I have always had a strong desire for marriage and family. Painfully, I endured impure relationships leading to broken engagements. By the Grace of God, I recognized the way I was living was not working. The Lord planted seeds in my mind and heart months before I chose chastity. In August 2018, I attended a dear friend’s wedding, where I served the Eucharist on the groom’s side of family and friends. Toward the end of the evening with the bride and groom, I experienced a profound epiphany. I reflected on how those two newlyweds were virgins and would soon be consummating their marriage vows with the beautiful marital act of becoming one FOREVER! This life-changing reflection stirred in my heart a deep desire to be made new by the Lord.
Weeks later, I chose chastity – the best gift for my life, heart, mind, and soul!
Before choosing to live chastity, my life focused on earning graduate degrees and giving of myself professionally and in relationships. The way I approached romantic relationships was not from a biblical perspective. Previously, my romantic relationships included playing house, and I discerned out of relationships only after getting engaged. The path God wants for His children is to give themselves only in marriage when there is a forever yes, to properly care for one’s own heart and the beloved’s heart. The path of cohabitation and intimacy outside marriage does not protect one’s heart, mind, or soul and can lead to financial instability.
Proverbs 4:23 has become one of my favorite bible passages, ‘Keep your heart with all vigilance; for from it flow the springs of life.’ God wants us to care for our hearts, and we do that through intentional dating and maintaining a pure heart while discerning the vocation God has planned for each of us, whether it be marriage or religious life. Choosing chastity gave me peace, clearer thinking and decision-making, and a protected heart. I chose chastity to wait for my husband with whom I will give my forever yes, and he will give me his forever yes! God’s mercy and grace are restorative and redemptive. I am grateful God opened my eyes to the fullness of the gifts of 1) chastity, 2) the Sacrament of Marriage, and 3) how God created man and woman to bear fruit, especially the fruit of creating a new life through the marital act.
