There is a growing body of data that points to a degraded student “hook-up” culture on many college campuses—includ- ing Catholic college campuses—marked by casual sexual activ- ity. This paper provides a systematic review of the social science literature that has been published in the last twenty years on the dating and mating behavior of college students and assesses what many of these researchers have identified as the very real damage done by the embrace of a hook-up culture.
