Is marriage doomed by cohabitation?
I would like to know if my upcoming marriage is already doomed because we have lived together.
No marriage is "doomed" before it even starts. Some couples have faced challenges that imperil their marriages and by God's grace manage to keep their marriages intact.
Cohabitation, though, is certainly grave matter, and one of its consequences is that it does pose serious challenges to the success of marriage. It fosters a sense that there is an "open door" to the relationship that makes it difficult to maintain the lifelong commitment marriage entails when disappointments and heartaches arise. Premarital counseling (and post-marital counseling, as well) can help you and your fiance prepare yourselves for marriage and conquer the challenges that crop up. For more information and for referrals to Christian counselors I recommend the Pastoral Solutions Institute and CatholicTherapists.com.
